Staples closing its downtown Victoria store this summer

Office supply store Staples is closing its Fort Street location in Victoria on June 28. A sign is posted at the 747 Fort St. store announcing it is shutting its doors. No reason has been given.

Office supply store Staples is closing its Fort Street location in Victoria on June 28.

A sign is posted at the 747 Fort St. store announcing it is shutting its doors. No reason has been given.

Staples other two stores, on Tolmie Avenue in Saanich and on McCallum Road in Langford, are not believed to be affected.

About 27 people work at the downtown store.

A company official could not immediately be reached for comment today.

Staples’ headquarters are near Boston. It is a global operator with locations in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. It has more than 1,800 outlets in North America alone.
