Snowfall warnings were issued Monday for the Malahat area of the Trans-Canada Highway and east and inland Vancouver Island.

Environment Canada is forecasting 10 to 15 centimetres of snow before rain falls in the afternoon.

As much as 25 centimetres has fallen since the winter snow storm began Friday night.

Rain or a mix of rain and snow is forecast for much of the Island for later in the day, with daytime temperatures keeping above zero.

The forecast for Tuesday on the Island is mostly sunny and forecast to be 7 to 8 C.
