Sidney area power outage blamed on wintry weather

Wintry weather caused some power outages in the capital region on Thursday night. An estimated 2,154 customers were without power from 6:18 p.m. in Sidney because of a tree down across electrical wires, B.C. Hydro reported.

Wintry weather caused some power outages in the capital region on Thursday night.

An estimated 2,154 customers were without power from 6:18 p.m. in Sidney because of a tree down across electrical wires, B.C. Hydro reported.

Crews were on site restoring service to an area east of Kittyhawk road, south of McDonald Park road, north of Patricia Bay Highway and west of Third Street.

Crews were investigating an outage that occurred at 6:26 p.m. in the 10000-10001 block of McDonald Park Road. Twenty customers were affected.
