RCMP investigating whether Sidney hit-and-run, North Saanich crash are related

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are trying to determine whether two motor-vehicle incidents, one of which left a man in critical condition, are connected. The first crash was reported about 2:10 a.m. Wednesday as a hit-and-run.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are trying to determine whether two motor-vehicle incidents, one of which left a man in critical condition, are connected.

The first crash was reported about 2:10 a.m. Wednesday as a hit-and-run. A vehicle parked in a driveway on Gabriola Place in Sidney was reportedly clipped by a passing vehicle.

The second incident involved a grey Audi SUV on Tatlow Road in North Saanich. Police say the vehicle left the road and struck several trees before coming to a stop on the passenger side about 6 a.m.

The lone occupant, a 24-year-old North Saanich man, was critically injured.
