The radio DJ who asked Christy Clark on air what it was like to be a "MILF" has lost his job.

Vancouver radio station CFOX has hired Justin (Drex) Wilcomes, the Comox Valley host who was fired after he asked Premier Christy Clark a sexually charged question on the air.

“I think it’s unfortunate that a talented guy is out of a job,” said CFOX senior program director Chris Duncombe on Friday.

“I had the ability to bring him over here. He’s available. He’s a talented guy, and we’re always looking for creative talented people on the Fox.”

In December, Wilcomes — then a host on Courtenay rock station JetFM — asked Clark what it’s like to be a “MILF” — a lewd acronym used to describe an attractive mother.

Clark laughed at the question, and replied that it was better to be a MILF than a cougar — a term that references an older woman on the prowl for a young partner. Wilcomes was subsequently let go from his job.

On Friday, Duncombe said Wilcomes will work on air at CFOX starting Monday, working overnight and on weekends.

He added he did not see an issue with the controversial interview.

“I think that if you listen to that clip the premier certainly felt that it was appropriate to comment on it so I don’t think there was any issue on it from how I would judge it,” he said.
