A Qualicum Beach man has been charged in connection with the ransacking of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Columbia Beach last month.
Furniture and religious items were strewn about the church in the July 10 incident. Entry was gained through a side window, police said.
Police identified a suspect based on evidence found in the church, said Cpl. Jesse Foreman of Oceanside RCMP.
Thomas Dion Bruneau, 25, has been charged with break-and-enter, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of and break-and-entry tools.
Bruneau was released on several conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 22.
