The robberies took place March 11 and 12.

A Port Alberni man was arrested within half an hour of a robbery at a beer and wine store in the city, and has been charged with that crime and an armed robbery the previous day.

Early on March 11, a masked man entered a 7-Eleven and produced an edged weapon. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

That was followed in the late evening of March 12 by a masked man entering a beer and wine outlet and demanding money. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed sum of money.

No one was injured in either incident.

After the arrest, money from both robberies was recovered.

Jared Dallen Stein, 30, has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of disguise with intent and flight while pursued by a peace officer.

He remains in custody and is due for his next court appearance April 3.
