Victoria police are investigating an act of mischief that had elements of a hate crime.
Officers went to the 700 block of Pembroke Street on Oct. 5 after a resident reported two vehicles had been spray-painted. Police said the nature of what was on the cars meet the standard for investigation as a hate crime.
The specifics of what was spray-painted were not disclosed.
Police are asking people who were in the 700 block of Pembroke Street or the 700 block of Princess Avenue between 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 and noon Oct. 5, or have video footage, to call them at 250-995-7654, extension 1, or to report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
