Victoria police have arrested a suspect in a stabbing that occurred Friday night in Bastion Square.
Patrol officers and detectives with the Major Crimes Unit made the arrest Sunday evening. The man was also arrested on three additional warrants for aggravated assault, failing to attend court and failing to comply with release conditions.
He is being held in police cells awaiting court and faces recommended charges of aggravated assault in the Bastion Square incident.
The victim in Friday’s stabbing suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police said the victim’s injuries are now considered non-life-threatening.
Police continues to investigate.
