A 68-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in North Saanich on Sunday.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP said Wednesday they continue to investigate the collision, which occurred on East Saanich Road near Barrett Drive about 12:45 p.m.
The man was walking in an uncontrolled crosswalk on East Saanich Road when he was struck by a southbound vehicle, said Cpl. Chris Manseau.
Manseau said the man, a North Saanich resident, was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Speed and alcohol are not considered factors, Manseau said.
Police ask anyone who saw a silver Volvo station wagon before the crash, or who has information about the collision, to contact the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
