Orcas disrupt sailings between Victoria and Salt Spring Island Saturday

A pod of killer whales in Fulford Harbour Saturday afternoon disrupted ferry service between Victoria and Salt Spring Island.

B.C. Ferries said on Twitter that it had missed one round trip to safely accommodate the orcas. The Skeena Queen was back on schedule with the 5:50 p.m. sailing from Fulford.

It added a sailing at 9:35 p.m. Saturday from Fulford Harbour to make up for the disruption.
