One new case of COVID-19 recorded in Island Health region

Seventy-five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the province on Thursday, including one new case in Island Health. On Wednesday, Island Health said it had 25 active cases — one in the north, 14 in the central region and 10 in the south.

Seventy-five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the province on Thursday, including one new case in Island Health.

On Wednesday, Island Health said it had 25 active cases — one in the north, 14 in the central region and 10 in the south.

The new cases bring the total number of active cases in B.C. to 1,111, of whom 113 are in hospital, including 34 in intensive care.

Of the 4.6 million people age 12 and older eligible to be ­vaccinated in the province, 76 per cent have had a first dose and 24.2 per cent have had two doses.

Three new COVID-19 related deaths were reported on Thursday for a total of 1,747 in the province since the pandemic began.
