One person died in a crash on the Malahat on Saturday afternoon.
The B.C. Coroners Service confirmed that a motorcyclist died in the crash.
Westshore RCMP said the motorcycle was in the northbound lane of the highway when it crashed into the median about 2:45 p.m. The driver and passenger suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
Multiple ambulances responded, according to B.C. Emergency Services, and paramedics found one of the riders had died. The other person was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The northbound lanes were closed for several hours between Okotoks and Aspen roads while officers investigated. The highway reopened before 7 p.m.
