The Maritime Museum of B.C. has landed a matching sponsor for its Float the Boat fundraising campaign.

Until end of business March 11, any donations to the campaign of up to $1,000 will be matched by the Thermopylae Club.

The campaign, which has a goal of raising $25,000 before the end of March, is geared to helping offset costs associated with the pandemic.

Through the campaign, the museum has marked funding milestones by filling a tank with water and floating a toy boat.

So far it has raised about $21,000.

The Maritime Museum of B.C. relies on grants and private donations to keep its doors open.

Donations can be made online.
