Man who crashed into hedge in Oak Bay, left in taxi impaired, police say

A man was arrested for impaired driving after he crashed his motorcycle into a hedge in the 400 block of King George Terrace Oak Bay early Saturday, then left the scene in a taxi. Witnesses told Oak Bay police officers who responded to the 3:10 a.m.

A man was arrested for impaired driving after he crashed his motorcycle into a hedge in the 400 block of King George Terrace Oak Bay early Saturday, then left the scene in a taxi.

Witnesses told Oak Bay police officers who responded to the 3:10 a.m. crash report that the rider appeared intoxicated.

Police went to the address of the registered owner in Victoria and found an uninjured male showing signs of liquor impairment who admitted riding the motorcycle.

The man, 29, was arrested and transported to the police station, where he provided two breath samples.

He was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
