Man faces sex charges, police seek more of his potential victims

RCMP are looking for more potential victims in a sexual assault investigation involving a Port Alberni man.

RCMP are looking for more potential victims in a sexual assault investigation involving a Port Alberni man.

Colin Robert Hall, 40, has been charged with seven counts of sexual interference, seven counts of sexual assault, and three counts of invitation to sexual touching.

The RCMP began its investigation in March. Police have identified several potential victims, including some who were minors at the time of the alleged offences, said B.C. RCMP spokesman Cpl. Chris Manseau. The allegations span several years and may have occurred in other locations.

“There was an initial allegation and as it unfolded, more and more victims were identified, so we don’t know if there are more that could be vicitms,” Manseau said. “We are just asking the public to come forward if they have information or if they’ve been a victim.”

Hall has been released on bail with several conditions, including:

• Not to have contact with any of the alleged victims.

• Not to be alone with any person younger than 18.

• No activities, volunteering or job with persons younger than. 18 without permission of a bail supervisor.

• Not to be where persons younger than 18 may be found (including school grounds, playgrounds, swimming areas, public parks).

Hall’s next court date is scheduled for Sept. 11 in Port Alberni.

Port Alberni RCMP ask anyone with information related to the investigation or who sees Hall breaching any of his bail conditions to immediately call 911 or the detachment at 250-723-2424.
