Man charged in targeted Langford shooting

A 25-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and a number of firearms offences in connection with a targeted shooting at a Jacklin Road house in Langford six months ago.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and a number of firearms offences in connection with a targeted shooting at a Jacklin Road house in Langford six months ago.

Deven Lambert is also charged with discharging a firearm with intent, discharging a firearm in a home and uttering threats. Lambert is in custody at the Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre.

He is scheduled to appear in Western Communities provincial court on Oct. 17.

West Shore RCMP Insp. Todd Preston said the firearm used in the shooting was recovered by police.

The shooting took place about 12:30 a.m. on April 5 in a duplex at 2884 Jacklin Rd.

When police arrived, they found an injured man who told them he had been shot. The man, who was in his 30s, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was expected to make a full recovery.

No one else was hurt.

A suspect fled in a vehicle.

At the time, West Shore RCMP spokeswoman Const. Nancy Saggar said the serious crime unit and crime reduction unit was investigating and looking into any connections to drugs or organized crime.
