A man has been arrested in connection with a daytime robbery at an ATM in Vic West.
On Sunday, a woman in her 70s was pushed from behind and robbed while withdrawing money at a bank in the 100-block of Wilson Street, near Bay Street, according to Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko. Officers were called to the area but could not find the man.
The woman went to a local business until police arrived. She was not physically injured.
Victoria police released new surveillance images from the bank on Wednesday night.
Based on tips from the public, officers located a suspect in Esquimalt. He was arrested without incident and held overnight. The man is due to appear in court this morning.
Officers are still hoping to speak to witnesses and anyone who recognizes the man in the photos.
He is described as a white man in his 30s, about six feet tall with a stocky build and stubble-length reddish brown hair. He was wearing a green long-sleeved shirt with a downward pointing triangle on the back, blue jeans and white sneakers.
