A float plane pilot was rescued without serious injuries Thursday morning after experiencing a hard landing on water near Campbell River.
Around 8 a.m., the plane stalled during landing while about six metres above the water, fell and went nose-first into the water but did not sink, said navy Lt. Pamela Hogan, a public affairs officer for the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre.
The Canadian Coast Guard rescued the pilot, who was assessed by first responders at the scene and found to have no significant injuries, and towed the plane to a nearby dock, Hogan said.
