A man drove an SUV through a security fence and onto the tarmac at Victoria International Airport on Saturday morning.

He did not reach the runway.

“He remained on the tarmac, RCMP were called and brought back to groundside and took him away,” said Rod Hunchak, the airport’s director of business development and community relations.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. and was resolved in about 20 minutes, he said.

“One flight experienced a minor delay and then flights just resumed as normal about 11 a.m.”

No one was injured, Hunchak said.
