Fire damages home in Gordon Head; no one injured

Fire broke out in a Gordon Head home Sunday morning, forcing the occupants to flee.

Saanich Fire said the alarm came in at 8:15 a.m. from a house in the 4000 block of Magdelin Street. Three trucks and 16 firefighters were dispatched. People were evacuated and nobody was hurt.

At the height of the fire, exterior flames were visible. Damage appeared to be mostly at the back of the building. Firefighters had it under control relatively quickly.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates have been determined.
