A driver who ran into a parked vehicle on Douglas Street early Tuesday ended up failing a roadside-screening test for alcohol and having the vehicle seized.
Saanich police were called about 5:15 a.m. and arrived to find both vehicles heavily damaged.
Police talked to the driver and found grounds to administer a roadside-screening test for alcohol, which the driver failed.
The result was a 90-day driving a prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver was uninjured and no one was in the other vehicle.
“It goes to show you that impaired driving happens at all times of the day,” Const. Markus Anastasiades said.
