The Times Colonist has been plagued by inconsistent, late or non-existent deliveries after it switched to a different printing plant on Oct. 2.

Our apologies once again for the inconsistent, late or non-existent deliveries that have plagued the Times Colonist since our switch to a different printing plant on Oct. 2.

We expected a few problems — any major change in procedures will bring unforeseen challenges — but the fourth week with the new system has been the worst week yet.

At the Times Colonist we strive to provide the most comprehensive, up-to-date package of news and information that we can. When the newspaper we print does not make it to your door on time, we have failed in our core purpose.

Our carriers are doing all they can under extraordinary and trying circumstances. Our office staff members have been swamped with complaints; they cannot keep up with the phone calls and emails.

We must do better, and we will.

Thank you, once again, for your patience and understanding as we work through our press problems.
