A 50-year-old Courtenay man is in hospital with multiple gunshot wounds after what police are describing as a targeted incident early Friday.
Const. Rob Gardner from the Comox Valley RCMP said police were called to a disturbance at a home in the 1700 block of Arden Road in Courtenay just after midnight.
When officers arrived, they found a man had been shot. He was taken to the local hospital, then transported to a larger hospital, Gardner said.
“Police believe that this is a targeted incident and the public is not at risk,” he said.
The serious crime unit is investigating. No arrests have been made.
