The body of a 19-year-old man reported missing on Friday has been found in St. Mary Lake on Salt Spring Island.
He was located Saturday by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was last seen in the vicinity of the lake, and the public was asked to avoid the area during the investigation.
“The Salt Spring RCMP wish to thank Salt Spring Search and Rescue, Salt Spring Fire Department, B.C. Ambulance and the Salt Spring community for their support for the family of the missing man,” said Sgt. Clive Seabrook, Salt Spring RCMP detachment commander.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the cause of death.
Police said foul play is not suspected.
