B.C. Ferries is reminding customers travelling via the Tsawwassen terminal that there will be late-night closures of Highway 99’s George Massey Tunnel on Friday and Saturday.
The closures will be in effect in both directions from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. to allow testing of the fire-suppression system in the tunnel and its overhead lane-control signals.
Among the sailings that could be affected:
* The 8:15 p.m. from Duke Point to Tsawwassen on Friday
* The 9 p.m. from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen in Friday
* The 10:45 p.m. on Friday from Tsawwassen to Duke Point
* The 10:45 p.m. Friday from Duke Point to Tsawwassen.
* The 9 p.m. Saturday from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen
Northbound traffic can detour by taking Exit 16 to Route 91, while southbound traffic can take Exit 37 to Route 91.
