An air ambulance was called in Tuesday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision in Ladysmith that caused one of the vehicles to roll over.
A Ladysmith resident was airlifted in the helicopter to hospital in Victoria with serious injuries. The highway was blocked off to give the helicopter room to land.
The crash occurred at Roberts Street and the Trans-Canada Highway at about 1 p.m.
Traffic is being diverted through the town.
