Ontario boy injured after truck hits horse and buggy

A collision between a pickup truck and a horse-pulled buggy northwest of Owen Sound has injured five people, one of them seriously.

Provincial police say the collision occurred when the truck pulled out to pass the buggy along Grey Bruce Line in the township of Georgian Bluffs just after 7: 30 a.m. Saturday.

Four of the five occupants in the buggy suffered minor injuries, but a teenaged boy was airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.

Two horses were also injured and a vet was called to the scene.

There were no injuries to either occupant in the pickup truck.

Grey Bruce Line remains closed between Grey County Road 16 and Side Road 3 while police investigate.
