OTTAWA — Justin Trudeau will get some help from a second former prime minister when Jean Chretien takes part in a Liberal campaign event today.

Chretien will join Trudeau for a rally this afternoon in Hamilton, where seats in the area went either New Democrat or Conservative in 2011.

Paul Martin has also shared the stage with Trudeau during the campaign.

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper starts the day with some remarks in Stittsville, Ont., in the new federal riding of Carleton. The Conservatives handily won the old seat of Nepean—Carleton in 2011. Later in the day, Harper will be in Penticton, visiting the new riding of South Okanagan—West Kootenay.

NDP Leader Tom Mulcair takes his campaign to Vancouver-Quadra, won by the Liberals last time. He will make an announcement in the morning and hold a noon rally at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Bloc Leader Gilles Duceppe campaigns in Gatineau, visits a farm in Mirabel Saint-Benoit and attends a book launch in Montreal.

Green Leader Elizabeth May has no public events.
