Worker who died at logging site identified as Courtenay man

The B.C. Coroners Service has identified the worker who died at a remote logging camp on west Vancouver Island as a 46-year-old Courtenay man.

The B.C. Coroners Service has identified the worker who died at a remote logging camp on west Vancouver Island as a 46-year-old Courtenay man.

Stephen Mark Whitmore was working on a wheel loader in a logging camp at Kildonan on Wednesday when the equipment toppled over, trapping him inside.

Whitmore died at the scene.

WorkSafe B.C. and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating.
