The RCMP has revised the list of survivors of a helicopter crash Saturday near Bute Inlet.

Initial reports indicated that four men and a woman survived the crash.

However, the woman, a spouse of one of the passengers, was not on board the helicopter, said RCMP Cpl. Darren Lagan.

Five men survived the crash that killed Michael Kent Monson, a 48-year-old from Selah, Washington. One man was hospitalized in Victoria General Hospital but there was no word on his condition.

The helicopter, owned by E&B Helicopters of Campbell River, was chartered to fly fishermen to spots along the Homathco River, northeast of Campbell River.

The helicopter crashed and sank in the river. Monson’s body was recovered Sunday.

The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating.
