One woman was airlifted to Victoria last night after a crash outside Ucluelet.
Island RCMP Cpl. Darren Lagan said a pickup truck carrying three adults went down a 20-metre embankment near Kennedy Lake. The two passengers in the vehicle were not injured but the female driver was unconscious at the scene. She was taken by ambulance to Port Alberni hospital and then flown to Victoria General.
Lagan said it’s possible the woman had a medical issue, which might have contributed to the crash or her condition.
According to posts on Facebook, the woman might have suffered a stroke and the passengers may be from nearby Ahousat.
