West Shore RCMP are investigating a report of gunshots fired in a residential neighbourhood in Colwood last week.

Police, including a dog team, responded to calls July 13 at 5:10 p.m. near Terrahue and Metchosin roads.

Officers conducted a neighbourhood search to ensure local residents were safe. A firearm was recovered and there were no reports of injuries.

RCMP believe the incident was isolated.

Police received reports of a grey Toyota Tacoma truck driving from Terrahue Road to Metchosin Road and onto Lagoon Road at the time of the initial complaint and believe the occupants of the truck may be involved.

The newer model Toyota has a distinctive front push bar.

Police want to identify the occupants of the truck and are asking homeowners who live in the area to check surveillance or dash cameras for any footage that may have captured the truck driving by or any other suspicious activity on July 13 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
