Greater Victoria residents can weigh in on issues such as housing, safety and health in the capital region by taking part in the Victoria Vital Signs citizen survey, now until May 31.

It’s the 19th year of the survey, administered by the Victoria Foundation, which asks for participants’ views on 12 issue areas.

The responses are paired with statistics to produce the annual Victoria Vital Signs report, a snapshot of livability and well-being in Greater Victoria.

This year’s Vital Signs is focused on actions that need to be taken today to make Greater Victoria better for future generations.

“Victoria’s Vital Signs provides the community with information that sparks action to improve our region,” said Sandra Richardson, Victoria Foundation CEO.

“There is a significant amount of complex and integrated challenges in our community, and we hope the theme for 2024 and information collected will help us identify solutions for our region to help our grandkids and future generations.”

Co-ordinated nationally by Community Foundations of Canada, Vital Signs is a community check-up conducted by community foundations across Canada.

The survey runs until noon May 31, with short and long versions available.

Participants have a chance to win one of three Country Grocer gift cards worth $100 each, and can double their chances to win by filling out the long version of the survey.
