The head of the Capital Regional District’s water division has been appointed chief administrative officer.

Ted Robbins will assume the role Nov. 7 with the retirement of current CAO Robert Lapham.

Robbins has been general manager for the CRD’s Integrated Water Services division since 2013.

CRD chair Colin Plant said the board chose Robbins for his years of experience at the CRD. “This appointment will provide continuity for the organization in the uncertain times we are experiencing, including labour shortages and supply chain issues. Mr. Robbins will also bring great energy, ideas and qualities to the role.”

Robbins will work with the incoming CRD board at the start of its term after the Oct. 15 civic election and will lead a planning process to identify key priorities.

The chief administrative officer oversees all CRD operations for 13 municipalities and three electoral areas.
