Four Victoria teens got an up-close view of country-pop superstar Taylor Swift on the weekend, after a chance meeting with Swift’s mother.

Karlee Zaruk, Fiona O'Flynn, Sage DaSilva and Olivia Heinz — all Grade 7 friends from Monterey Middle School — were waiting in B.C. Place on Saturday when they were noticed by Swift’s mother Andrea.

The 13-year-old girls burst into tears when Andrea approached, and she invited them to watch the show directly in front of the stage, said Kathryn DaSilva, Sage’s mother.

“They were within a metre from her,” said DaSilva. “They could see the pattern in her nylons.

“It was like a dream come true.”

The Swift superfans had the best seats in the house, in a crowd of 43,000.

Sage and Karlee were carrying notes for Swift that they had written years earlier and always hoped to deliver to the singer.

They gave them to Andrea, who said she’d make sure her famous daughter read them personally, DaSilva said.
