Man who walked away from Victoria halfway house arrested in Surrey

Update: Milad Herbert has been arrested in Surrey.

Victoria police are trying to locate a man wanted Canada-wide after he walked away from his Victoria halfway house.

Milad Herbert, 32, was spotted Monday night in the downtown core.

He is described as six-foot-one with a medium build, black hair, facial stubble and a tattoo on the left side of his neck.

Police released a picture of both Herbert and the tattoo.

He was last seen wearing white cargo-style pants, a dark-grey shirt, a black puffy jacket, black-and-white shoes, and a black baseball cap.

Anyone who sees Herbert is asked to call 911.
