A Ucluelet woman is planning to head south on her sailboat after winning an $18-million Lotto Max Jackpot.
Sharon Fraser said she was eating breakfast with her husband and son when she checked the Lotto Max results and discovered she had hit the jackpot.
Her first thought? “They’ve made a mistake.”
Fraser called customer support, which verified her win.
“The kids were in disbelief at first,” she said.
Fraser said she wants to buy property and a new car but is not in a rush to make any plans. An avid sailor, she hopes to take some trips down south on her sailboat.
The money will provide some security for her children, said Fraser, a retiree.
Fraser claimed her $18 million jackpot Tuesday at the B.C. Lottery Corporation’s Vancouver office.
B.C. lottery players have won more than $34 million from Lotto Max in 2024 so far.
