Two Vancouverites living in the same house died Saturday afternoon in two completely unrelated accidents.

She was struck by he door as the bus rolled past her and almost a block down the road toward Marine Drive before stopping.

While the woman's injuries were believed minor, along with three others hurt by the bus, she died on the say to the hopsital.

At this time it's unclear whether the bus had been properly parked or not,

Later in the day, the woman's famly gathered to mourn her at the home she shared with her husband on the 900 block of East 63rd Aenue.

At 4:45 p.m., a fire broke out in the basement unit of the home.

The family evacuated safely but crews discovered one body in the downstairs suite.

While the upstairs unit only suffered some smoke damage and broken windows, the downstairs unit was destroyed by the fire.

Vancouver Fire Captain Gabe Roder also said firefighters responded to a second fire call to a complex of 49 apartments at 1618 East 6th Avenue at 5:05 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find flames visible from a 3rd story suite, with flames reaching the suite above on the 4th floor.

Roder said crews were able to extinguish the blaze quickly and there were no injuries, but there was extensive fire, smoke and water damage to six of the suites. The displaced families were receiving assistance to find alternate accommodations, while 43 families have been allowed back into their suites. The cause of this fire has not been determined, Roder added.
