Two men in a small plane escaped unharmed when they were forced to make an emergency landing along the rocky shore of the Pitt River Thursday after their craft sprung a fuel leak.

Two men in a small plane escaped unharmed when they were forced to make an emergency landing along the rocky shore of the Pitt River Thursday after their craft sprung a fuel leak.

The impact of the landing ripped off the plane's wheels, but the men walked away unscathed and activated emergency beacons.

They were picked up by a Cormorant helicopter from CFB Comox.
