Rescue members participating in a training exercise north of B.C.'s Sunshine Coast needed to be rescued themselves.

Capt. Trevor Reid with Royal Canadian Air Force 19 Wing Comox said the 16-metre Black Duck, a rescue-training support vessel, became hung up on some rocks on Vivian Island near Powell River on Monday.

All nine people aboard were safely removed, and no one was hurt. A helicopter and coast guard vessel helped with the quick evacuation.
