Tofino Mayor Perry Schmunk has announced his resignation and that of chief administrative officer Braden Smith.
Schmunk cited his recent change of employment, becoming marketing director of the Cactus Club Cafe restaurant chain as the reason for his resignation. The job takes him out of Tofino at least four days a week.
A date for a mayoral byelection has yet to be set.
Smith will continue in his job until Feb. 1. Smith is relocating to Winnipeg, where he will take a senior planning role with the city.
