A three-year-old boy is expected to make a full recovery after falling from a second-floor window at a Begbie Street apartment Monday afternoon.
The fall happened about 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Begbie Street, near Belmont Avenue. The child was awake and crying after the fall, and was taken to hospital to be checked out.
Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko said it’s not clear what sort of surface the boy landed on. He said the boy might have been playing when he somehow toppled from the window.
His parents were supervising when the accident happened. Police arrived a short time later.
“When we got there, the child had already been taken inside,” Osoko said.
He said it is “wonderfully lucky” that the boy was not more seriously hurt.
