Three people were arrested just minutes after a home invasion in Nanaimo.
Nanaimo RCMP were called to a Howard Avenue home on March 9 with a report of a crime in progress. They were told three men had pushed their way inside and seemed to be looking for a previous tenant.
When the current tenants denied any knowledge of the person, they were assaulted and allegedly threatened with a machete.
Police arrived during the confrontation and arrested three men.
No one was seriously injured.
Kyle McHugh, 27, Jason Froude, 37, and Steven Desjarlais, 40, were charged with break-and-enter, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
McHugh and Froude have been remanded in custody, while Desjarlais has been released on conditions.
