A thief entered an Oak Bay home through an unlocked sliding door at the back of the house and took a laptop worth $1,400 while the resident was in the home.
The brazen daytime break-in was reported just before 10 a.m. on March 28.
The resident told Oak Bay police they were in the upstairs area of the home when the theft occurred.
The investigation is ongoing.
