Suspect sought in two Courtenay thefts

The suspect is alleged to have walked out of one of the businesses with about $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise and about $1,500 worth of merchandise from the other

Comox Valley RCMP are trying to identify a suspect in thefts from two businesses in the 3200-block of Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay.

Surveillance photos from the Feb. 7 incidents have been released.

Police said the suspect is alleged to have walked out of one of the businesses with about $2,000 worth of stolen merchandise and about $1,500 worth of merchandise from the other.

He is described as average height with a stocky build, wearing a tuque with his hair covering his eye.
