A suspect was arrested Sunday in the death of a man who succumbed to severe stab wounds in Nanaimo. RCMP were called to the scene about 1:45 p.m. after the 44-year-old victim was seen staggering outside a residence at King Arthur’s Court, an apartment complex in the city’s Harewood neighbourhood.

The victim, whom police found in distress on the ground, was treated by ambulance attendants and taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to his wounds, RCMP said.

The suspect is to appear in court Monday. The investigation is continuing, Staff Sgt. Sorab Rupa said in a statement.
