Sixteen vehicles damaged in vandalism spree in Saanich

Saanich police are looking for a suspect described as a Caucasian male in his 30s with a thin build after 16 vehicles were vandalized in the areas around Harriet Road, Burnside Road West, Dupplin Road, Culduthel Avenue and Whittier Avenue.

The damage, totalling tens of thousands of dollars, occurred between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Dec. 29 to Jan. 5 , police said.

The vehicles are not believed to have been specifically targeted.

“We realize the impact this has to Saanich residents, including the costs and stress involved,” said Sgt. Damian Kowalewich. “We have officers actively investigating these cases and are receiving assistance from the Forensic Identification Section.

Investigators are asking residents in the affected areas to review surveillance footage for any relevant details.
