Search continues for Fairfield man who went missing six months ago

The 54-year-old man was last seen early on Jan. 10, when officers believe he might have gone to an area near the ocean.

Victoria police continue to search for a man reported missing six months ago.

Ian Indridson, 54, was last seen early on Jan. 10, when officers believe he might have gone to an area near the ocean.

At the time he disappeared, Indridson was reportedly suffering from anxiety after starting a new government job. His wife said when she woke up at 7:50 a.m. he wasn’t in the house.

Family and friends began looking for him, putting up posters in the Fairfield-Gonzales neighbourhood where he lived, searching parks including Mount Douglas and Mount Tolmie, and hiring a drone operator.

Police have deemed Indridson high-risk, which means investigators believed his health or well-being were in immediate danger when he went missing.

He is described as white and five-foot-11 with a slim build, and has short salt-and-pepper hair. When he went missing, he was believed to be wearing a dark Eddie Bauer sweater, black sweatpants and black rubber boots.

Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911. Call Victoria police with information on his whereabouts at 250-995-7654, extension 1, or report anonymously to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
