A Port Alberni man has been arrested for dealing in scrap metal less than a year after a court order forbade him from doing so.

Island District RCMP said the man was arrested in March for allegedly dealing in stolen metal. He was charged with attempting to possess stolen property and released on court-ordered conditions that included staying away from the metal business.

In December, police learned that the man was buying and selling scrap metal. He was arrested Jan. 30 and released a day later, again with the condition that he not deal in scrap metal.

The man is scheduled to appear in court in Port Alberni today. — Times Colonist
